New Hiding Place

Kate decided to climb in and check out Mattie's kennel this morning. Who knew an extra large dog kennel could be so much fun! Poor Mattie, she has no place to hide now that Kate has invaded her space.

Playtime

Kate has turned into a monkey when playing around the house. She's now climbing in the toy basket to find toys instead of pulling the toys out. She also loves to throw toys out of her chair, then try to hang over the side to retrieve them. It's a wonder she hasn't fallen on her head yet.

Easter Morning

The Easter Bunny came to see Kate even though she cried on his lap the day before. It was such a beautiful day for Easter. Even though we had a packed week with three birthday parties, family visiting, egg hunting, and Easter, I think Kate enjoyed every minute of it. We were all worn out by Sunday night, but it was a great week!

The First Birthday Party

Kate had her 1st Birthday Party on Saturday. She had a great time playing with her cousins, seeing all the family, eating cake and playing with her gifts. She had so much fun!

The Easter Bunny

Kate did not like the Easter Bunny. After I took her off the Easter Bunny's lap, she kept looking over my shoulder at him like, "what was that?" Maybe next year we'll get a smiling picture.

Let's Find Some Eggs....

We had the neighborhood "Easter Eggstravaganza" on Saturday morning with an Easter Egg hunt, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and a Build-A-Bunny station. I was not aware at how competitive Sam was going to be with Kate during the Easter Egg Hunt. I am sure there is a little 3 year old in our neighborhood with bruises from Sam knocking him down to get eggs for Kate! He wanted Kate to have the most eggs....

Happy Birthday Kate!

Kate had a big day today. I picked her up early from school to get her check-up with Dr. Amy, met Sam for birthday dinner, opened birthday presents, and had a birthday cupcake. Needless to say, Kate fell asleep on my lap tonight after she drank her bottle. It was such a sweet way to end her first birthday.

The first thing Kate went for was a book. The child loves books!

One Year Stats

Kate had her one year check-up on her birthday today. She's slimmed down some and is only in the 50 percentile for her weight and the 75 percentile in height. She's 21 lbs, 12 oz and is 30" long. Kate loves to play with all of the equipment in Dr. Amy's office.

An Amazing Year

To say it's been an amazing year is an understatement. Kate has been such a blessing in our lives. It's hard to believe that "little" 9 lb, 2 oz baby has already grown into a sweet, active one year old. Happy Birthday.

Let the Parties Begin

Kate had her birthday party at school today since I've got to take her to the doctor for her check-up on her birthday tomorrow. Grandmama & Gran surprised Kate at school today and she didn't know what to think of it all. After a few minutes, she only wanted me to hold her for the rest of the party. Go figure? She's never like that at school. The rest of her friends devoured cookie cake and were covered in pink icing.
