Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Sam!

I had Kate answer these questions for Sam. Some of her little responses were so funny and I would think, "Where is she getting this from??" (I can't figure out how to rotate this picture on the blog??)

More From Chi-town

I really had forgotten how much I love Chicago. It is such a fun big city with so much to see & do.

Taking the Architectural Boat Tour on the Chicago River. Fun to see the city from a different perspective.

Drinks on the 96th floor lounge at the John Hancock Building.

Our view of the city from the Hancock Building. Pretty amazing!

Hello Chicago!

Sam surprised me with a late anniversary trip to Chicago since we haven't gotten away on a childless vacation in two years. So, we shipped Kate off to the James' for some playtime with Daniel & Laura Ann. She had a ball even though a little under the weather, and we had a ball as well! Win-Win! Thanks to my sister & sister in-law for taking care of our "kids" while we were gone.

Caught an afternoon Cubs game at Wrigley.
 Great seats!

My Furry Child

Mattie turned 10 years old today. I got Mattie right after Sam & I's first date and she has always been sweet companion with unconditional love. Happy birthday old girl.

This dog loves to open presents!

Our sweet Mattie-girl (as Kate calls her).

Happy Birthday Sam!

Happy 34th Birthday Sam! We hope you had a good one.

I thought the "golf" cake that I made for Sam turned out really cute. Kate was so excited to show it to him!

She didn't want to smile or show her mouth with all of the icing on it.

No Sugar Bugs Here!

Kate was so excited when I told her she had a dentist appointment on Tuesday. She thinks it is so great to get her teeth cleaned and pick out what flavor they clean her teeth with all while she kicks back and watches Disney movies on the tvs mounted on the ceiling. So proud of how great she does when there was a 10 year old getting her teeth cleaned bawling crying just as Kate looked on. We are happy  to report that we didn't have any "sugar bugs" according to Dr. Thomas.

About to get her xrays.

Just catching "The Little Mermaid" movie while waiting for the dentist. She was mesmerized since she hasn't seen that movie before.
Excited about her "goodie bag" from the dentist and her spider that she picked out of the toy machine. There were bouncy balls and all kinds of toys to choose from the toy machines, but our little bug obsessed child picks out the slimy black spider.

The "Big" Girls

Our little neighbor, Kinsel, has been selling all sorts of things each night trying to raise money for some of her summer camps. The items being auctioned include lemonade/Gatorade, silly band bracelets, old toys, and trinkets. Kate has been obsessed lately with hanging out with Kinsel and her friend, Anna Kate, each night. Tonight, the older girls were teaching Kate a dance routine. Sam is definitely not ready for this! I'm not sure that these girls realize they might just have a 4 year old side-kick for the summer.

Purchasing some Gatorade & silly bands bracelets from Kinsel on Monday.
Learning some new dance moves tonight.
Eventually, they just let Kate pick out a toy/bracelet each night. She then is so proud of what she got from Kinsel for the rest of the night.

A Few Randoms

Here's a few random pictures from this weekend.

Friday night we were playing in the driveway after dinner, and I went to see what Kate was up to....well, in many ways, I kind of wish I hadn't. Kate had started a worm collection on our cable box. The gross part of it was that they were all dead worms....and parts of dead worms. See picture below. Throw in a few leaves and a dirty princess band aid and you get,  "the most awesome worm collection," as Kate says! So gross! Oh, it was also pajama that day at school, hence the pjs.

Yuck. She must get this from her daddy.
Happy Birthday Daniel! We celebrated Daniel's 8th birthday on Saturday.
A few pictures before church on Sunday.
