Fall Harvest Party

Kate had a Fall Harvest Party at school on Halloween. The kids were bouncing off the walls by the time they were done with all of the sugar.

A Little Blue Beta Named Edward

In the previous post, I mentioned how I had just had a long, stressful month of work, so Sam took Kate out to run some errands and grab lunch. This gave me a few hours to get some much needed housework done. When they got home, Kate was bursting with excitement. Sam had taken her to one of her favorite stores: the pet store (i.e. Petco). However this time, they did not leave empty handed like they normally do. Kate got a fish. I have to admit, I was not overly thrilled when I first saw our new pet as I soon realized I would be adding "clean the fish bowl" to my to-do-list. Mind you, we already have a 85lb dog, but Kate absolutely loves her new Beta fish. We keep him in her bathroom and she loves to check on him, feed him, read to him, etc.

Oh, and when Sam asked Kate what she was going to name her new fish, Kate said, "Edward, I think I will name him Edward." Ha!

Sweet Surprise

After an extremely long and stressful month of work, I got some great work-related news! Sam & Kate surprised me with some pretty flowers and a celebration dinner. Kate was so proud of them.

Field Trip to the Grand Ole Pumpkin Patch

Kate's class had a field trip to the Grand Ole Pumpkin Patch. It's fun to see her interact with all her friends from school. They are growing up way to fast!

We Got Boo'd!

Kate was screaming at the front door and scared me to death. When I finally got to her, she pointed out the Halloween basket that was left for her by an unknown sweet neighbor. Thanks for "boo-ing" us!

Party at the Patch

Laura Ann had her 6th birthday party at the pumpkin patch. All the kids enjoyed the festivities despite the rainy, cool weather. Happy Birthday Laura Ann!

Can you tell this was a forced picture that Kate did not want to take? Blue teeth and all.

Happy Fall Y'all!

Love this time of the year!

Girls Trip!

We had one last hoorah at the beach with myself, Kate, and our friends Jill and Reese before fall sets in. Kate and Reese are best buds from school and we had a blast seeing these two little girls enjoy themselves. They had a so much fun catching crabs and Kate actually caught a tiny fish in her net. We had great weather and I think we were all worn out from the sun & fun at the beach.

Let's Bake!

We went to a super fun birthday party tonight! Olivia had a cupcake baking party for her 4th birthday and I'm not sure who enjoyed it more? The parents had a great time helping the kids eat all of the cupcakes! The girls helped to bake and decorate their cupcakes in their cute little aprons. Lots of sugar and lots of uncontrollable giggles! Happy Birthday Olivia!

Their personalized aprons are just about the cutest party favor that I have seen!
 Love, love, love them!
 Ready to bake.
Loading up with lots of sprinkles!

Wild Animals

We had our first free Saturday in a while, so Sam and I took Kate to the zoo. She was so excited and had a ball on a beautiful Saturday morning!

The new giraffe exhibit was really neat!

I think the lions entertained Sam & I more than Kate. One of the lion cubs was playing with the mama lion and she was not amused by the cub's antics. While we couldn't get enough of watching the playful lions, Kate wasn't quite sure about it. She thought the lions were attacking each other and was ready to move on to the next exhibit.

We ran into Kelty & Keene while waiting for the trian.

Just Another Morning....

...in the Compton house. As I was getting ready for work, Kate was playing in the den. She had put all of her babies in a circle for nap time, then put on her "teacher" ensemble. It comprised of white gloves, sunglasses and jewelry.

War Eagle!

Kate and I met up with Aunt Haley and Grandmama to head down for a day on the Plains. Hands down, Kate's favorite part of the football game was spotting Aubie,  the "Sparkle" girls (the majorettes), and watching the eagle land on the field. Auburn managed to eek out a win which made for a happy car ride home!
